It's mid-morning, bright and sunny out, and Judith can be found at the edge of the river not too far from the Vesperia house, watching Jonah sit in the sand and derp around. Judy's got the journal open, her gaze shifting between the pages and her kid as he babbles away at the flowing water. It's relatively quiet and peaceful, and all seems right with the world, until the journal catches a little voice piping-]

....Shu-up!

[There's a long, extended pause, followed by a different voice entirely, one slightly ominous, as if carrying the promise of potential violence:]

Yuri.

And then shuts the journal.]

[...... Why was that terrifying? Maybe he should consider trying to get out and away from the house ...]

[You have five minutes to get to the beach before she starts hunting you down.]

[bb he's already climbing out the window. And originally not for the reason you're expecting. But he already knows he's screwed, so after about a minute of standing outside of the window he just climbed through and deciding whether or not making a break for the forest and pretending he was lost there the whole time is worth it, he'll walk around to the other side of the house, where the river is.]

[Good man, Yuri. He'll find Judith watching the river and their rather enthusiastic baby as he plays with the sand (and probably is still getting it all over Repede, if dogbreath is still around). She's waaaaiting for him.]

[Walking over now. Well, at least she's not sitting there, sharpening pointy objects or anything. But still -- how do you start a conversation with someone who is probably going to deck you no matter what reasons you have?]

... Judy?

[... That'll do.]

[No pointy objects, though she was ready for him, having heard him coming. At his voice, she pushes herself up to her feet, turns to face him, and gives him a good once-over, expression rather difficult to read. Hmm...]

[And then she grabs him by the lapels, rolls, and flips him right into the river.]

[.............. That was a lot less painful than he was expecting. Caught him off-guard, shocked him a little, but he'll take this over getting punched through a wall or something.

After he lands, resurfaces, and shakes off the "I just got flipped into the river, what" feeling, he'll just get to work with forcing himself to stand and getting out of there. Being in the river feels nice when it's hot out, but not in what he's wearing.]

... Guess I deserved that.

[Judith leans back, dusting her hands together. Job well done.]

I felt it was best to wash your mouth out, as an example.

[And... somewhat delayed, but Jonah starts doing his baby giggle. Daddy had a whoopsie, tee hee..]

[Both Jonah and his mother are getting a sigh and a bit of the ol' line-face treatment in response to that. Deserved or not, there are totally better ways to set an example for that D| ... But not only are they worse than what she did, he's not about to give her any ideas. And Jonah, how dare you laugh at your father, you little trouble-maker :|]

Right, right ... I get the message. [He'll just ... wring out the front of his shirt now. And his hair. ... Was it always this long? Oh well.]

[Hm, mission accomplished, so she can relax again. She sits down in the sand again, ruffling a bit out of Jonah's hair, then pats the spot beside her.]

Come and sit. You'll dry faster in the sun.

[He'll just nod and walk over, sitting beside her. Ugh, clothes sticking to him D| Bleh. But the sun will dry him off faster, like she said, so he'll just deal with it. It's also around that time that the whole thing hits him -- Jonah actually said something for the first time. Not something he should be proud of him saying, but still. ... And considering some of the other words that have come flying out of his mouth in the kid's presence while looking through the journal, he's just glad "shut up" is the only thing that stuck.

... Dear god does he hope it's the only thing that stuck. Or else he'll really get his ass handed to him.

Regardless, after a moment or two of silence--]

... Talking already, huh. Not the best set of first words, but it's something.

[Judith folds her hands together, resting them on her knees and letting a little smile cross her lips.]

He's grown a lot. Before long it'll have been a year.

Yeah, you're right. [Wow. Damn. He lays back on the grass, staring up at the sky.] Almost a year already ... [... And almost another year since he first arrived ...

...

... He needs to get out of here. He needs to get his family out of here. This is getting ridiculous.]

[She shifts a little in the sand, her toes digging through it; she'd removed her boots earlier since Jonah would've filled them with sand somehow anyway.]

...By now he'd be calling to the Entelexeia, if we were home.

Well, there are no guarantees. He's half-human, after all. [Looking pointedly at him now.] But It's very likely; communicating with the Entelexeia involves more than just words.

Huh ... I'd say it's too bad that there aren't any around for us to be able to tell, but this isn't a good place for them. [Or anyone else for that matter, but the Entelexeia especially.]
